Baby Steps

Saturday felt like a step in the right direction.  Margaret and I saw our friends, Tom and Cindy, who we had not seen since last summer.  They are snowbirds.  Their return from Florida happened only a couple of weeks ago.   Mid-afternoon they walked over.  The four of us sat in our backyard and spent an hour or so catching up.  It was terrific.

Shortly after Tom and Cindy headed home, Jill popped in. I’d not seen my sister since one gorgeous Sunday in early March when we had taken Rita and Sam for a Sunday romp through Mountain Lakes Estate.  I do not know when the last time was that Jill and I had gone three months without seeing one another.  I had missed her.  Terribly in fact.  It was only a short visit but it felt like a B-12 shot.

Finally, Saturday night Margaret and I saw our great friends, the Sisters Kizis (Lynne and Suzanne) for Lynne’s birthday.  We had not seen them since prior to the pandemic.  It was a low-key evening.  It was fantastic.  Just what we all needed as a matter of fact.

Life around here is certainly not back to normal.  But, for one day at least, we took a small and significant step in the right direction.
