Margaret and I recently watched George Carlin's American Dream on HBO Max. I must confess that I had forgotten exactly how much I have missed him. If ever there was a time in the history of these United States that screams out for Carlin, we are living through it.
So here's some words of wisdom for a Sunday in mid-June, courtesy of George Carlin, to cynics near and far...

I marveled at the evolution of his career and the various stages. Memory being what it is, I recalled him as always on top of his game and in demand. The special showed me a very human person struggling as we all do (okay, maybe not the drugs) with everyday challenges and obstacles. I thought it was brilliant. I nthat same vein, though approached entirely differently, check out Netflix's Norm MacDonald final special. Had never fully appreciated him (aside from the moth joke), but it's very good.
