One Bad Freedom Rucker

Freedom Ruck 2015

I first made the acquaintance of Vic Wise in January 2014, shortly before he embarked on the inaugural Freedom Ruck.  In the years since, I cannot help but notice that a bit of gray has made its way into his hair.  Not nearly as much as has made its way into mine during that very same time period, mind you.  It is still nice to know that I am not alone out here.

He is an extraordinary young man.  At some point today, he and his fellow Ruckers will reach their destination, which is Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.  They shall arrive there after having walked and run more than one hundred miles in less than two days while carrying sixty-pound rucks on their backs.

In 2014, Vic Wise's initial Freedom Ruck was, for all intents and purposes, a solo act, in that he was the Lone Rucker.  It no longer is.  His actions, way back when in 2014, inspired others.  They still do.  If you would like to help without having to endure the personal hardship of walking more than 100 miles in less than 48 hours while carrying 60 pounds on your back, then you may do so here.
