In the final analysis, we are not partisan combatants.
We are human beings, equally vulnerable and
Equally wonderful in the sight of God.
We rise or fall together, and we are determined to rise.
-President George W. Bush
Saturday, in a video that is slightly less than three minutes long, the 43rd President of the United States reminded us that survival in a time of national crisis is neither a Democrat thing nor a Republican thing, neither a blue thing nor a red thing, and neither a "Liberal" thing nor a "Conservative" thing.
It is, as it has always been, an American thing...
...unless of course you are the perpetual victim who currently resides at President Bush's former Washington, D.C. address. For him, it has always been an "it is all about me" thing and a "no matter what happens, it is not my fault" thing.

My moment of Zen with the Apricot Asshole on Sunday night: ""They always said nobody got treated worse than Lincoln. I believe I am treated worse." Except, of course, Lincoln was MURDERED in office, but I can certainly see why the privileged putz would feel persecuted when he gets called on his lies.
ReplyDeleteThe self-made comparisons to Lincoln always make my hair hurt. If 45 was a reader (by his own admission he is not) then at some point he might have stumbled across "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin, which presumably would enlighten him as to just how far removed from Lincoln he is, and shall always be.
