The second member of the "Nana and Pop Pop Grandchildren Class of 2018" is two years old today. Two years ago, Princess Abigail arrived approximately twenty-six hours after Callum and approximately 1,800 miles to his west. Geography impedes how much Nana and Pop Pop see Abby, and her mom and dad, but Face Time helps. It shall be the tool we use today to wish her "Happy Birthday!'

Although neither Nana nor I see Abby every day, her being out of sight at it were does not mean she is ever out of mind. Not even for a single day. She is a remarkable little girl who is eagerly awaiting the birth of her baby sister later this month. Seeing how quickly and how completely she picks up on things, I reasonably anticipate that it will take her about a week to have the "big sis" gig down cold.
We have not seen the Colorado branch of the family tree since December. I surprised Margaret with a long weekend in Colorado about two weeks before Christmas, which allowed us to really stretch out the Christmas-celebrating. It was as if we knew - without knowing of course - the hell 2020 had in store for us so we filled our souls with as much Christmas spirit as we could.

May our extraordinary granddaughter have the birthday she deserves, in the company of her parents, both of whom love her very much, and in the hearts of those of us who love her from beyond Colorado's geographical boundaries.
