Time Well-Spent on a Tuesday Afternoon

Last year my friend Lynne Kizis persuaded me to join the Middlesex County Bar Association.  It only took me twenty-five years in the practice of law, during all of which I might add I have lived in Middlesex County, to join my local Bar Association.  While I am historically a non-joiner, I am tremendously glad I listened to Lynne and joined the MCBA.

Tuesday afternoon, the MCBA, in conjunction with the Middlesex County Bar Foundation and a brand-new entity, the MCBA Board on Racial Equity and Social Justice, presented a two-hour virtual CLE seminar entitled "Implicit Bias Training".  David L. D'Amico, Chief Investigator for the Middlesex County Department of Corrections and a thirty-one-year veteran of law enforcement presented the seminar. It was nothing short of extraordinary.

Although David L. D'Amico is a law enforcement officer and the participants in the seminar were either lawyers or law enforcement officers, it is a topic worthy of discussion in any organization, including but not limited to a school.  I cannot recommend it strongly enough.  If you are someone whose organization would benefit from such a program, and I am hard-pressed to think of an organization that would not, then I suggest you contact Mr. D'Amico directly, which you can do via e-mail at: David.Damico@co.middlesex.nj.us or via telephone at (732) 951-3359.

Extraordinary program.  Simply extraordinary.
